All appeals received shall be handled in non discriminatory manner.

Description of appeals handling process is made available on STANCERT website www.stancert.in. All appeals received shall be logged into Complaint / Appeal Log (F.MSP.06). Acknowledgement shall be sent to appellant within 7 working days.

Appeal will then be forwarded to the Chairman of Impartiality Advisory Committee who shall nominate a member of Impartiality Advisory Committee as Head of Appeals Committee. Other appeal committee members shall comprise of any two persons (considering sequential preference) from below :

 

Executive Director
Managing Director
Manager Certification
Qualified Lead Auditor from STANCERT
 

It shall be ensured that the persons engaged in the appeal handling process are different from those who carried out the audits and made certification decisions. 

   

Appeals committee shall review and thoroughly investigate the appeal in all aspects. While doing so, it may request for detailed information on the issues as supported by documentary evidence.

The Appeals Committee, during the review and investigation, may ask the appellant to present the facts in person, if necessary. The appeals committee shall also take into consideration the results of previous and similar appeals, if any. The tracking and recording of appeals, including actions undertaken, are recorded in Complaint / Appeal Investigation Report (F.MSP.07). The appellant shall be kept abreast of progress on the appeal.
   
The Appeals Committee will give its decision which shall be binding to all concerned.
   
STANCERT shall communicate the decision of the appeals committee to the appellant.
   
Any correction / corrective actions required to be taken on the findings of appeal process, shall be taken up by STANCERT and followed up for effectiveness.
   
STANCERT shall give formal notice to the appellant at the end of the appeals-handling process.
